Paintball Protective Gear

The guru stresses the importance of paintball protective gear. Paintball has very few injuries, but the injuries that do occur are almost always due to being unprotected. The paintball guru has compiled two short lists. One list is for the necessary gear. The other is for optional gear that can be of benefit to you.

Necessary Protective Gear

The only protective item that is absolutely REQUIRED for player safety is a paintball mask.

An adequate paintball mask can cover both the eyes and ears, and offer a decent amount of sensory perception.

If a player wears this one piece of armor, the risk of injury is decreased by about 92%!!!

Recommended Protective Gear

OK, so you don't really need these items but paintball can be painful without recommended paintball protective gear. Take a look at some paintball bruises, to get a better idea. So if you want to avoid looking like you've taken a beating, or if you just want to avoid pain, you should strongly consider these items.

Body armour- this paintball vest, can be purchased from most decent paintball retaillers.

Thick long sleeved shirt or sweater- Can be found in your own closet! Paintball jerseys are also a good option, for the more serious paintball player.

Thick pair of paints- can be found in your own closet.

Optional Paintball Protective Gear

Occasionally a paintball can come into contact with your hands. Your hands are a very vulnerable body part. And a paintball will feel like absolute death when it makes contact with one of your own fingers.

That being said, paintball injuries almost never include your hands. A shot to the hand will hurt, but not injure.

Paintball gloves- You can find this item at most paintball retaillers. A must buy item for a serious paintball player. An optional buy for a causual paintball player, depending on your pain threshold, personal interest.
